Friday, April 6th

April 6th - 8th, Weekend at Ivy Payne Wildlife Refuge will be open for camping, guided hikes, and other activities as part of the 80th Annual Dogwood Trails Celebration hosted by the city of Palestine. Twenty minutes south of Palestine, this preserve is a great place to visit while you’re in the area enjoying the festival and other outdoor recreation opportunities.

We will have three FREE guided hikes over the weekend that are open to everyone! Saturday, April 7th at 10:00am, Saturday, April 7th at 2:00pm, and Sunday, April 8th at 10:00am. Texas Land Conservancy is also offering campsite reservations. The property is the perfect place to set up for a weekend in nature. Included in the campsite reservation will be breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, as well as a campfire with s’mores on Saturday night! ($15 campsites for TLC members, $30 campsites for non-members). Attendees are responsible for their own transportation to the event, tents/bedding, etc. (a document outlining preparation for the weekend will be provided to attendees). Restroom and shower facilities are available on the property. Limited number of campsites available and they are first come first serve, so bring the whole family and reserve your spot today! April 7 – Classic Movies in the Park. Bring your blanket or lawn chair and enjoy an open air showing of a classic film in beautiful Reagan Park. Popcorn and candy available for purchase. This event is free and open to the public

April 7 - "Market Madness" at the Palestine Farmers Market. Agriculturalists, artists, bakers, and creative vendors bring the community together while showcasing local unique, crafty and gardening talent. Local vendors have the opportunity to sell homegrown, homemade and handmade items. Market Madness is a special event that will also showcase items offered through direct sales!

April 7 - Hands-on Fun at Curious 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Explore how things move in a large Marble Run room, create and test your own flying object in a wind tube, watch bubbles grow huge, and so much more. 
Come be Curious at Palestine's hands-on science, technology and art (STEAM) museum for all ages. Enjoy 18 hands-on exhibits, join in hands-on learning activities, explore, and have fun!
